Barbara Barry is a beautiful contradiction: Her style is at once impeccably classic and essentially Californian in its mix of influences and relaxed air. That combination has struck a chord with our current mood for a put-together decor that accommodates casual entertaining. Her furniture for Baker and her Barbara Barry–brand bed linens, china, and even scented candles make it possible to live in a world of Barry’s designs—as do these tips and insights she recently shared with us. —Paul O’Donnell
