HOST A WATER-BALLOON FIGHT: Grab a bag of balloons at your grocery store and flip on the faucet! Water-balloon fights are one of the most refreshing ways to initiate summer fun. Of course it’s best to hold these battles in outdoor areas, like a yard, residential street, or park.
THROW A DIY SUNDAE PARTY: There’s nothing more satisfying than an ice-cream sundae on a hot summer day or night. Invite your sweet-toothed friends over to build and indulge in their own. Simply stock up on the essentials—ice cream, chocolate sauce, caramel, nuts, creamy topping (get the new Cool Whip in a can for easier service!) and sprinkles—and leave the sundae styling to your guests. The ease with which you’re entertaining is the cherry on top.
GIVE YOURSELF A SUMMER MAKEOVER: You know those fancy eye shadows, nail polishes, and lipsticks you’ve always wanted to try but never had the courage to buy? Go find the drugstore versions and head straight to checkout, no hesitation. Pops of teal and bronze shadow and liners are surprising wearable and seasonally in style, as are orange nails, and juicy, punch-colored lips. Choosing the cheaper products will let you experiment, without buyer’s remorse.
GO SKINNY-DIPPING: Don’t be sheepish—be audacious! Swimming sans skivvies is undeniably one of the biggest—and boldest—adrenaline rushes out there. You can corral a willing and equally brave buddy or go solo. Just make sure you’re dipping in a private pool. Now dive in, daredevil.
DO SUNRISE YOGA: Although it’s more associated with chilling than thrilling, morning yoga practice can generate a real rush. The fresh air, tranquil setting, and invigorating sunrise will energize you, inside and out. Non–spoiler alert: Yoga also tones your muscles—a bonus that’s especially beneficial during swimsuit season.
